Satisfying and flavorful sausage stuffed shells filled with ricotta and mozzarella, baked in marinara sauce.

- 20 jumbo pasta shells
- 1 pound Italian sausage
- 2 cups ricotta cheese
- 1 cup shredded mozzarella cheese
- 1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese
- 1 egg
- 2 cups marinara sauce
- 1 teaspoon Italian seasoning
- Salt and pepper to taste
- Fresh basil for garnish
Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C).
- Cook the jumbo pasta shells according to package instructions; drain and set aside.
- In a skillet over medium heat, cook the Italian sausage until browned; drain excess fat.
- In a bowl, mix the cooked sausage, ricotta cheese, 1/2 cup of mozzarella cheese, Parmesan cheese, egg, Italian seasoning, salt, and pepper.
- Stuff each cooked shell with the sausage and cheese mixture.
- Spread 1 cup of marinara sauce on the bottom of a baking dish.
- Arrange the stuffed shells in the baking dish and cover with the remaining marinara sauce.
- Sprinkle the top with the remaining mozzarella cheese.
- Cover with foil and bake for 25 minutes, then uncover and bake for an additional 10 minutes until the cheese is bubbly.
- Garnish with fresh basil before serving.
Notes
To add extra flavor, sprinkle some additional Parmesan cheese on top before serving.
