Description
A delightful bread inspired by Raising Cane’s, perfect for dipping, tearing, or enjoying on its own.
Ingredients
Scale
- 3 cups all-purpose flour
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 1 tablespoon sugar
- 1 packet active dry yeast
- 1 cup warm water
- 2 tablespoons olive oil
- 1 tablespoon garlic powder (optional)
- Butter (for brushing)
Instructions
- Activate the yeast by combining warm water, sugar, and yeast and letting it sit for 5-10 minutes until bubbly.
- Combine the flour and salt in a large mixing bowl, forming the foundation of your bread.
- Mix the yeast mixture and olive oil into the dry ingredients until combined.
- Knead the dough on a floured surface for about 5-10 minutes until smooth.
- Place the dough in a greased bowl, cover, and let it rise for 1 hour or until doubled in size.
- Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C).
- Punch down the risen dough and shape it into a loaf, placing it in a greased loaf pan.
- Allow it to rise again for about 30 minutes.
- Bake in the preheated oven for 25-30 minutes or until golden brown.
- Brush with melted butter if desired and serve warm.
Notes
Make sure your water is warm (not hot) to avoid killing the yeast. Kneading is essential; be sure to knead until the dough is smooth and elastic.
