- 4 chicken breasts
- 1 cup shredded cheese (cheddar or Monterey Jack)
- 1–2 jalapeños, diced
- 1 tablespoon olive oil
- 1 teaspoon garlic powder
- 1 teaspoon onion powder
- Salt and pepper to taste
- Fresh cilantro for garnish (optional)
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).
- Heat olive oil over medium heat in a large oven-safe skillet.
- Season chicken breasts with garlic powder, onion powder, salt, and pepper.
- Sear the chicken for about 5-6 minutes on each side until browned.
- Set the chicken aside while keeping the skillet hot.
- Sauté the diced jalapeños in the same skillet for a couple of minutes.
- Combine the chicken and sprinkle cheese on top, then cover.
- Bake for 15-20 minutes until the chicken is fully cooked and the cheese is melted.
- Garnish with fresh cilantro if desired and serve hot.
Notes
For a deeper flavor, consider marinating the chicken in the seasoning for an hour before cooking. Adjust jalapeño quantity for desired spiciness.
