Ingredients

- 2 cups water
- 1 cup granulated sugar
- 1 cup fresh lemon juice
- 1/2 cup fresh basil leaves
- Pinch of salt
Instructions
- Combine water and sugar in a saucepan. Heat over medium heat, stirring until the sugar is dissolved.
- Remove from heat and add the basil leaves. Let steep for 30 minutes to extract the flavor.
- Strain the mixture to remove the basil, leaving a smooth syrup.
- Stir in the lemon juice and a pinch of salt, combining the flavors.
- Pour the mixture into an ice cream maker and churn according to the instructions.
- Transfer the sorbet to a container and freeze until firm, about 2 hours. Serve and enjoy!
Notes
Store any leftover sorbet in an airtight container in the freezer for up to 2 weeks. Let it sit at room temperature for a few minutes before scooping.
