Description

A refreshing and elegant sorbet that combines the zesty flavor of lemons with the aromatic essence of fresh basil.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 2 cups water
  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • 1 cup fresh lemon juice
  • 1/2 cup fresh basil leaves
  • Pinch of salt

Instructions

  1. Combine water and sugar in a saucepan. Heat over medium heat, stirring until the sugar is dissolved.
  2. Remove from heat and add the basil leaves. Let steep for 30 minutes to extract the flavor.
  3. Strain the mixture to remove the basil, leaving a smooth syrup.
  4. Stir in the lemon juice and a pinch of salt, combining the flavors.
  5. Pour the mixture into an ice cream maker and churn according to the instructions.
  6. Transfer the sorbet to a container and freeze until firm, about 2 hours. Serve and enjoy!

Notes

Store any leftover sorbet in an airtight container in the freezer for up to 2 weeks. Let it sit at room temperature for a few minutes before scooping.
