Description

A delicious and comforting dish that combines leeks with creamy cheese, perfect for a weekday dinner or impressing guests.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 4 leeks, cleaned and sliced
  • 1 cup heavy cream
  • 1 cup grated cheese (such as Gruyère or Parmesan)
  • 2 tablespoons butter
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • 1/2 cup breadcrumbs (optional)
  • Fresh parsley for garnish (optional)

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C).
  2. In a skillet, melt butter over medium heat. Add the sliced leeks and cook until they are soft, about 5-7 minutes.
  3. In a baking dish, combine the cooked leeks, heavy cream, salt, pepper, and half of the cheese. Mix well.
  4. Top with the remaining cheese and breadcrumbs if using.
  5. Bake in the preheated oven for 25-30 minutes or until the top is golden and bubbly.
  6. Garnish with fresh parsley before serving.

Notes

For a lighter version, substitute half-and-half for heavy cream. Adding garlic or onion can enhance the flavor.
