- 4 leeks, cleaned and sliced
- 1 cup heavy cream
- 1 cup grated cheese (such as Gruyère or Parmesan)
- 2 tablespoons butter
- Salt and pepper to taste
- 1/2 cup breadcrumbs (optional)
- Fresh parsley for garnish (optional)
Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C).
- In a skillet, melt butter over medium heat. Add the sliced leeks and cook until they are soft, about 5-7 minutes.
- In a baking dish, combine the cooked leeks, heavy cream, salt, pepper, and half of the cheese. Mix well.
- Top with the remaining cheese and breadcrumbs if using.
- Bake in the preheated oven for 25-30 minutes or until the top is golden and bubbly.
- Garnish with fresh parsley before serving.
Notes
For a lighter version, substitute half-and-half for heavy cream. Adding garlic or onion can enhance the flavor.
