Description

A tender and flavorful pot roast with Korean-inspired flavors of soy sauce, sesame, and ginger, perfect for family gatherings.


Ingredients

Scale
  • 34 lbs pot roast
  • 2 tablespoons vegetable oil
  • 1 onion, sliced
  • 3 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 cup beef broth
  • 1/4 cup soy sauce
  • 1/4 cup brown sugar
  • 1 tablespoon sesame oil
  • 1 teaspoon ginger, minced
  • 23 carrots, sliced
  • 23 green onions, chopped
  • Salt and pepper to taste

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 300°F (150°C).
  2. Sear the pot roast in vegetable oil over medium-high heat until browned, about 5 minutes on each side.
  3. Sauté the onion and garlic until softened.
  4. Add the beef broth, soy sauce, brown sugar, sesame oil, and ginger.
  5. Return the pot roast to the pot and add the carrots.
  6. Bring the mixture to a simmer.
  7. Bake in the oven for 3-4 hours until the meat is tender.
  8. Let the pot roast rest for a few minutes before slicing.
  9. Slice the roast and serve with the sauce and garnish with green onions.

Notes

Pairs well with rice or mashed potatoes. Leftovers can be stored for up to 3 days in the refrigerator.
