Description

Ingredients

  • 1 lb Italian sausage
  • 2 cups long-grain rice
  • 4 cups chicken broth
  • 1 onion, chopped
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 bell pepper, chopped
  • 1 can diced tomatoes
  • 1 tsp Italian seasoning
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • Olive oil
  • Fresh parsley for garnish

Instructions

  1. In a large skillet, heat olive oil over medium heat.
  2. Add chopped onion, garlic, and bell pepper. Sauté until softened.
  3. Add the Italian sausage, breaking it up with a spoon, and cook until browned.
  4. Stir in the rice, diced tomatoes, chicken broth, Italian seasoning, salt, and pepper.
  5. Bring to a boil, then reduce heat to low. Cover and simmer for 20-25 minutes until rice is cooked.
  6. Fluff the rice with a fork and garnish with fresh parsley before serving.

Notes

Use spicy or sweet Italian sausage based on your heat preference. For added flavor, include other vegetables like zucchini or mushrooms.
