- 1 lb ground turkey
- 1 onion, chopped
- 2 carrots, diced
- 1 cup peas
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 2 tablespoons tomato paste
- 1 cup beef or chicken broth
- 1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce
- 4 cups mashed potatoes
- Salt and pepper to taste
- Olive oil for cooking
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C).
- Heat a splash of olive oil in a large skillet over medium heat. Add the chopped onions and minced garlic, sautéing until softened.
- Add the ground turkey, diced carrots, and peas. Cook until the turkey is browned.
- Stir in the tomato paste, broth, and Worcestershire sauce. Season with salt and pepper. Simmer for 5-7 minutes.
- Transfer the turkey mixture into a baking dish, spreading evenly.
- Spread the mashed potatoes over the turkey layer, creating peaks if desired.
- Bake for about 20-25 minutes until the tops of the mashed potatoes turn golden brown.
- Let it cool for a few minutes before serving.
Notes
For a complete meal, serve with crusty bread and a simple green salad. Leftovers can be stored for up to 3 days and reheated in the oven.
