Description

A comforting and quick dish made with ground beef, creamy tomato sauce, and tender orzo pasta, perfect for family dinners.


Ingredients

  • 1 pound ground beef
  • 1 cup orzo pasta
  • 1 can (14 oz) diced tomatoes
  • 1 cup heavy cream
  • 1 onion, diced
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 teaspoon Italian seasoning
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • Parmesan cheese for serving
  • Fresh basil for garnish (optional)

Instructions

  1. Brown the ground beef in a large skillet over medium heat until fully cooked. Drain excess fat and set aside.
  2. Sauté the diced onions and minced garlic in the same skillet until the onions are translucent.
  3. Stir in the diced tomatoes and sprinkle in the Italian seasoning. Let it simmer for 5 minutes.
  4. Pour in the heavy cream and stir until well combined. Season with salt and pepper to taste.
  5. Cook the orzo pasta according to package instructions, then drain.
  6. Mix the cooked orzo into the creamy sauce, followed by the ground beef.
  7. Serve hot, garnished with Parmesan cheese and fresh basil, if desired.

Notes

Leftovers can be stored in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 3 days. Reheat gently on the stovetop or in the microwave.
