- 1 tablespoon baking powder
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1/2 cup granulated sugar
- 1/2 teaspoon ground cinnamon
- 1/2 cup milk
- 1/3 cup vegetable oil
- 1 large egg
- 1/4 cup brown sugar (optional)
- 1 tablespoon butter (for brushing, optional)
Instructions
- Preheat the oven and prepare the pan: Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease a loaf pan.
- Mix the dry ingredients: In a large mixing bowl, whisk together the flour, baking powder, salt, granulated sugar, and ground cinnamon.
- Combine the wet ingredients: In another bowl, mix the milk, vegetable oil, and egg until well combined.
- Add the wet ingredients to the dry ingredients and stir until just combined.
- Create your cinnamon-sugar mixture: If using, mix the brown sugar with a bit of cinnamon in a small bowl.
- Pour half of the batter into the prepared loaf pan and sprinkle with half of the cinnamon-sugar mixture.
- Pour the remaining batter over the cinnamon layer and sprinkle the top with the remaining cinnamon-sugar mixture.
- Use a knife to swirl the mixture slightly.
- Bake to perfection: Bake for 30-35 minutes or until a toothpick comes out clean.
- Brush with butter (optional) after baking.
- Let it cool slightly before slicing and serving.

Store leftovers in an airtight container at room temperature for up to 3 days or refrigerate for up to a week.
