Ingredients

  • 2 pounds chicken wings
  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1 cup cornstarch
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 teaspoon onion powder
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1 cup buttermilk
  • Oil for frying
  • 1/2 cup gochujang (Korean chili paste)
  • 1/4 cup honey
  • 2 tablespoons rice vinegar
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • Sesame seeds (for garnish)
  • Chopped green onions (for garnish)

Instructions

  1. Marinate the chicken wings in buttermilk for at least 30 minutes.
  2. Mix together the flour, cornstarch, garlic powder, onion powder, salt, and pepper in a large bowl.
  3. Heat oil in a deep fryer or large pot to 350°F (175°C).
  4. Dredge the marinated chicken wings in the flour mixture.
  5. Fry the wings in batches until golden brown, about 8-10 minutes.
  6. Combine gochujang, honey, rice vinegar, and minced garlic to make the sauce in a separate bowl.
  7. Toss the fried wings in the sauce until well coated.
  8. Serve the wings garnished with sesame seeds and chopped green onions.
