Description

A fun and healthy alternative to traditional potato chips, these Crispy Smashed Broccoli Chips are easy to prepare and provide a crunchy snack packed with nutrients.


Ingredients

  • 1 large broccoli head
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • Salt to taste
  • Pepper to taste
  • Garlic powder (optional)
  • Parmesan cheese (optional)

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 400°F (200°C).
  2. Cut the broccoli into florets and steam them until just tender (about 5 minutes).
  3. Remove from heat and let cool slightly.
  4. Place the florets on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper.
  5. Using a fork or the bottom of a cup, gently smash each floret until flat.
  6. Drizzle with olive oil and sprinkle with salt, pepper, and garlic powder, if using.
  7. Bake in the oven for 15-20 minutes or until crispy and golden brown.
  8. Sprinkle with Parmesan cheese during the last few minutes of baking if desired.
  9. Serve immediately as a snack or side dish.

Ensure that the broccoli florets are steamed just enough to be tender but still hold their shape. Don’t overcrowd the baking sheet; give the chips enough space to become crispy.
