Description

A delightful dish combining rich flavors and a creamy sauce with hearty Italian sausage, perfect for busy weeknights or cozy weekends.


Ingredients

  • 12 oz rigatoni pasta
  • 1 lb Italian sausage
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • 1 small onion, diced
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 cup heavy cream
  • 1 cup grated Parmesan cheese
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • Fresh basil for garnish

Instructions

  1. Cook rigatoni according to package instructions until al dente. Drain and set aside.
  2. In a large skillet, heat olive oil over medium heat. Add the diced onion and cook until translucent.
  3. Add the Italian sausage, breaking it apart with a spoon, and cook until browned.
  4. Stir in minced garlic and cook for an additional minute.
  5. Reduce heat to low and add heavy cream, stirring to combine.
  6. Slowly mix in the grated Parmesan cheese until melted and smooth. Add salt and pepper to taste.
  7. Toss the cooked rigatoni in the creamy sauce until well coated.
  8. Serve hot, garnished with fresh basil.

Notes

Add extra Parmesan cheese on top and serve with a side salad or garlic bread for a complete meal. To store leftovers, refrigerate in an airtight container for up to 3 days.
