Description

A delicious Caramelized Onion Tart featuring sweet and savory flavors with a flaky, golden crust, perfect for any occasion.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 2 large onions, thinly sliced
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • 1 tablespoon butter
  • 1 tablespoon balsamic vinegar
  • 1 teaspoon sugar
  • Salt and pepper, to taste
  • 1 sheet puff pastry, thawed
  • 1 cup goat cheese or cream cheese
  • Fresh thyme leaves (optional)

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 400°F (200°C).
  2. Heat olive oil and butter in a large skillet over medium heat. Add sliced onions and cook, stirring occasionally, until soft and caramelized (about 20-25 minutes).
  3. Stir in balsamic vinegar, sugar, salt, and pepper. Cook for an additional 5 minutes.
  4. Roll out the puff pastry on a floured surface and transfer it to a baking sheet.
  5. Spread cheese over the pastry, leaving a border.
  6. Top with the caramelized onions and sprinkle with thyme leaves if using.
  7. Bake for 20-25 minutes or until the pastry is golden brown.
  8. Let cool slightly before slicing and serving.

Notes

For serving, pair with a fresh salad or roasted vegetables. Drizzle with balsamic glaze for extra flavor.
