A comforting Italian classic that combines ziti pasta, creamy ricotta, and gooey cheese, perfect for gatherings or cozy nights in.

- 12 oz ziti pasta
- 2 cups marinara sauce
- 15 oz ricotta cheese
- 2 cups shredded mozzarella cheese
- 1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese
- 1 egg
- 1 tsp Italian seasoning
- Salt and pepper to taste
- Fresh basil for garnish (optional)
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).
- Cook the ziti pasta according to package instructions until al dente. Drain and set aside.
- In a bowl, combine the ricotta cheese, egg, Italian seasoning, salt, and pepper. Mix well.
- Spread half of the marinara sauce evenly on the bottom of a large baking dish.
- Layer half of your cooked ziti over the marinara sauce, then smooth the ricotta mixture over it.
- Add the remaining ziti on top of the ricotta layer.
- Pour the remaining marinara sauce over the top of the ziti.
- Sprinkle the shredded mozzarella and grated Parmesan cheese generously over the top.
- Cover with foil and bake for 25 minutes.
- Remove the foil and bake for an additional 15 minutes until the cheese is bubbly and golden.
- Let cool for a few minutes before serving and garnish with fresh basil.
Notes
Slightly undercook the pasta to prevent mushiness. You can add veggies for extra nutrition.
