Ingredients

- 1 cup raw cashews, soaked for 2–4 hours
- 1/2 cup water
- 1/4 cup nutritional yeast
- 1 tablespoon lemon juice
- 1 teaspoon garlic powder
- 1 teaspoon onion powder
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 1/2 teaspoon smoked paprika
- 1/2 teaspoon cayenne pepper (optional)
Instructions
- Drain your cashews and place them in a blender.
- Add water, nutritional yeast, lemon juice, garlic powder, onion powder, salt, smoked paprika, and cayenne pepper (if using).
- Blend until smooth and creamy, adding more water if necessary to reach desired consistency.
- Taste and adjust seasonings as needed.
- Serve immediately with tortilla chips or use in recipes as a cheese substitute.
Notes
Store leftovers in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 4 days. For longer storage, freeze in small portions for up to 3 months.
