- 2 pounds ripe tomatoes
- 1 cup sugar
- 1/2 cup apple cider vinegar
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
- 1/2 teaspoon ground allspice
- 1/4 teaspoon ground cloves
- 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
Instructions
- Wash the tomatoes thoroughly and chop them, removing any stems or cores.
- In a large pot, combine the chopped tomatoes, sugar, apple cider vinegar, and salt.
- Cook the mixture over medium heat, stirring occasionally until it starts to boil.
- Once boiling, reduce the heat and let it simmer, stirring often for 1 to 2 hours until it thickens.
- Stir in the spices and let it continue simmering for another 10 minutes.
- Pour the hot jam into sterilized jars and seal them.
- Let your tomato jam cool, then store it in the refrigerator.
Notes
For less sweetness, reduce the sugar by half a cup. Use ripe tomatoes for the best flavor.
