- 1 package puff pastry
- 8 oz cream cheese, softened
- 1/4 cup powdered sugar
- 1 tsp vanilla extract
- 1 cup strawberries, diced
- 1 egg, beaten (for egg wash)
- Optional: additional powdered sugar for dusting
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C).
- Roll out the puff pastry on a lightly floured surface. Cut out heart shapes using a cookie cutter.
- In a medium bowl, mix together the softened cream cheese, powdered sugar, and vanilla extract until smooth.
- Place a spoonful of cream cheese mixture in the center of each heart pastry and add diced strawberries on top.
- Fold the edges of the heart pastry over the filling and pinch to seal.
- Brush the tops of each danish with the beaten egg.
- Bake for 15-20 minutes or until golden brown and puffy.
- Cool before serving and dust with powdered sugar if desired.
