Description

A warm and inviting Southern dessert featuring sweet, caramelized bananas and a buttery, fluffy batter.


Ingredients

  • 4 ripe bananas, sliced
  • 1 cup sugar
  • 1/2 cup butter, melted
  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1 cup milk
  • 2 tsp baking powder
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • 1/2 tsp salt

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. In a mixing bowl, combine the sliced bananas with half of the sugar. Set aside.
  3. In another bowl, mix together the melted butter, flour, milk, baking powder, vanilla extract, salt, and remaining sugar until smooth.
  4. Pour the prepared batter into a greased baking dish.
  5. Layer the banana mixture generously over the top of the batter.
  6. Bake for about 45 minutes, until the top is golden brown and a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean.
  7. Let your cobbler cool slightly before serving.

Notes

Serve warm with vanilla ice cream or whipped cream; add nuts or caramel sauce for extra flavor.
