Ingredients
- Ground beef (80/20)
- Cheddar cheese slices
- Brioche bread
- Butter
- Ketchup
- Mayonnaise
- Dijon mustard
- Diced pickles
- Salt
- Pepper
Instructions
- Preheat a grill or skillet over medium-high heat.
- Form the ground beef into balls (about 4 oz each) and season with salt and pepper.
- Place the balls on the grill and smash them down with a spatula, cooking for about 3-4 minutes.
- Flip the patties and add a slice of cheddar cheese on top, cooking for an additional 2-3 minutes.
- Butter one side of each slice of brioche bread.
- In a bowl, mix together ketchup, mayonnaise, Dijon mustard, and diced pickles to create the special sauce.
- Assemble the sandwich with the cheesy smash burger between two slices of buttered brioche bread.
- Grill the sandwich on both sides until golden brown, about 3-4 minutes per side.
- Serve with the special sauce on the side.
Notes
For extra flavor, mix garlic powder or onion powder into the beef. Allow the patties to rest briefly after cooking for juiciness.
