Description

A colorful twist on the classic Italian lasagna, filled with creamy alfredo, rich sausage, and tangy ricotta.


Ingredients

  • 9 lasagna noodles
  • 1 pound Italian sausage
  • 2 cups ricotta cheese
  • 2 cups alfredo sauce
  • 2 cups shredded mozzarella cheese
  • 1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese
  • 1 egg
  • 1 teaspoon Italian seasoning
  • Salt and pepper to taste

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).
  2. Cook the lasagna noodles according to package instructions. Drain and set aside.
  3. In a skillet, over medium heat, cook the Italian sausage until browned and cooked through. Drain excess fat.
  4. In a mixing bowl, combine ricotta cheese, an egg, Italian seasoning, salt, and pepper. Mix until creamy and well blended.
  5. Spread a layer of alfredo sauce on the bottom of a baking dish.
  6. Layer three lasagna noodles on top of the sauce, followed by a layer of cooked sausage, a scoop of ricotta mixture, a sprinkle of mozzarella, and more alfredo. Repeat the process, finishing with noodles topped with remaining mozzarella and Parmesan.
  7. Cover the dish with foil and bake for 25 minutes.
  8. Remove the foil and bake for an additional 15-20 minutes, until cheese is bubbly and golden.
  9. Allow to cool for a few minutes before serving.

Notes

For a crispy cheese crust, broil the lasagna for a minute or two after baking. You can also assemble ahead of time and store in the fridge overnight.
