Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
- In a bowl, whisk together the flour, cocoa powder, baking soda, and salt until well combined.
- Cream together butter, granulated sugar, and brown sugar until light and fluffy.
- Beat in the egg, red food coloring, and vanilla extract until smooth.
- Gradually add the dry ingredients, stirring until just combined.
- Drop balls of dough onto the baking sheet, spacing them about 2 inches apart.
- Bake in the oven for 10-12 minutes, or until set at the edges but soft in the center. Cool on a wire rack.
- For the frosting, beat together cream cheese and butter until smooth. Gradually add powdered sugar and vanilla, mixing until creamy.
- Frost cooled cookies generously with cream cheese frosting and enjoy!
