- 1 large head of cabbage
- 1 pound ground beef (or turkey, or plant-based alternative)
- 1 egg
- 1 cup breadcrumbs
- 1 onion, finely chopped
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- Salt and pepper to taste
- Olive oil for brushing
- Optional toppings: cheese, lettuce, tomato, pickles
Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C).
- Prepare the cabbage by boiling it in salted water for about 5 minutes until the leaves become pliable.
- Mix the ground meat, egg, breadcrumbs, finely chopped onion, minced garlic, salt, and pepper in a bowl.
- Assemble the cabbage burgers by filling each leaf with the meat mixture and folding them over.
- Add olive oil to the tops of the cabbage burgers.
- Bake for about 25-30 minutes until the meat is cooked through.
- Serve warm with your choice of toppings.
