Description

A delightful Orange Jam infused with warm spices, perfect for spreading on toast or adding to yogurt.


Ingredients

Scale
  • 4 cups of oranges, peeled and chopped
  • 2 cups of sugar
  • 1/4 cup of lemon juice
  • 1 teaspoon of ground cinnamon
  • 1/2 teaspoon of ground nutmeg
  • 1/2 teaspoon of ground ginger
  • 1/4 teaspoon of ground cloves
  • 1/2 cup of water

Instructions

  1. In a large pot, combine the chopped oranges, sugar, lemon juice, and water. This brimming pot of orange goodness is just waiting to burst into flavor!
  2. Bring the mixture to a boil over medium heat, stirring until the sugar dissolves.
  3. Reduce the heat and let it simmer for about 15 minutes, mixing occasionally.
  4. Stir in the spices: cinnamon, nutmeg, ginger, and cloves.
  5. Continue simmering until the jam thickens, about 30 more minutes.
  6. To test for doneness, place a spoonful on a cold plate and check if it holds its shape.
  7. Once thickened, pour the jam into sterilized jars and let it cool before sealing.

Notes

Make sure your jars are well-sterilized to prevent spoilage. Adjust spice levels to your preference.
