A delightful twist on the classic brunch favorite, this Monte Cristo Breakfast Casserole is layered with ham, turkey, and Swiss cheese, making it perfect for any gathering.

- 8 slices of bread (preferably brioche or challah)
- 6 large eggs
- 1 cup milk
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 1 teaspoon cinnamon
- 1/2 pound deli ham, sliced
- 1/2 pound deli turkey, sliced
- 8 slices of Swiss cheese
- Powdered sugar (for serving)
- Maple syrup (for serving)
Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease a 9×13 inch baking dish.
- Layer 4 slices of bread in the bottom of the prepared dish.
- Whisk together the eggs, milk, vanilla extract, and cinnamon until well combined. Pour half of the mixture over the bread.
- Add the ham, turkey, and Swiss cheese on top of the soaked bread.
- Add another layer of the remaining bread slices on top.
- Pour the rest of the egg mixture over the top.
- Let the casserole sit for 15 minutes to absorb the liquid.
- Bake in the preheated oven for 30-35 minutes until puffed and golden brown.
- Sprinkle with powdered sugar before serving and offer maple syrup on the side.
