Description

A modern twist on the nostalgic maple donut, these Maple Donut Bars are easy to make and deliciously sweet.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • 1 tbsp baking powder
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • 1/4 tsp nutmeg
  • 1/2 cup milk
  • 1/4 cup unsalted butter, melted
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • 1/2 cup maple syrup
  • 1 cup powdered sugar (for glaze)

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease a baking pan.
  2. In a large bowl, whisk together flour, sugar, baking powder, salt, and nutmeg.
  3. In another bowl, mix milk, melted butter, eggs, vanilla, and maple syrup.
  4. Combine the wet ingredients with the dry ingredients until just mixed.
  5. Pour the batter into the prepared pan and spread it evenly.
  6. Bake for about 25-30 minutes, or until golden and a toothpick comes out clean.
  7. Let cool slightly, then remove from the pan. For the glaze, mix powdered sugar with maple syrup until smooth.
  8. Drizzle the glaze over the top of the bars, cut into bars, and enjoy!

Notes

Store leftovers in an airtight container at room temperature for up to three days or freeze for up to two months. Use room temperature eggs and milk for better texture.
