Description

A comforting low-carb casserole that combines the flavors of a classic cheeseburger with crispy bacon and creamy cheese, perfect for a hearty meal.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 lb ground beef
  • 6 slices of bacon
  • 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese
  • 1 small onion, diced
  • 1 cup heavy cream
  • 4 large eggs
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 teaspoon onion powder
  • Salt and pepper, to taste
  • Chopped green onions for garnish

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C).
  2. Cook the bacon in a skillet over medium heat until crispy. Remove and crumble, leaving the drippings in the skillet.
  3. Sauté the ground beef and diced onion in the skillet until the beef is browned, ensuring to drain any excess fat afterwards.
  4. Prepare the heavy cream mixture by whisking together heavy cream, eggs, garlic powder, onion powder, salt, and pepper until well combined.
  5. Combine the cooked beef, crumbled bacon, and half of the cheddar cheese in a greased baking dish. Pour the egg mixture over the top.
  6. Bake the casserole for 25-30 minutes or until the mixture is set and firm to the touch.
  7. Remove from the oven and top with the remaining cheese. Bake for an additional 5 minutes until the cheese is melted.
  8. Garnish with chopped green onions before serving.

Notes

Pairs well with a simple side salad or roasted vegetables.
