Ingredients

  • 1 teaspoon baking powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1/4 cup lemon juice
  • 1 cup powdered sugar
  • 2 tablespoons lemon juice (for glaze)
  • 1 tablespoon orange juice (for glaze)

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease a 9×5-inch loaf pan.
  2. In a large bowl, beat the cream cheese and butter until smooth; add sugar and mix until creamy.
  3. Beat in eggs one at a time, then incorporate lemon zest, orange zest, and vanilla extract.
  4. In another bowl, whisk together flour, baking powder, baking soda, and salt. Gradually add to the wet mixture, alternating with lemon juice.
  5. Pour the batter into the loaf pan and smooth the top.
  6. Bake for 50-60 minutes or until a toothpick comes out clean; cover with foil if browning too quickly.
  7. Cool in the pan for 10 minutes, then transfer to a wire rack to cool completely.
  8. For the glaze, mix powdered sugar with lemon and orange juices until smooth.
  9. Drizzle the glaze over the cooled bread, slice, and serve!
