A whimsical twist on classic chocolate chip cookies with floral notes of lavender.
Ingredients

- 2 1/4 cups all-purpose flour
- 1 teaspoon baking soda
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1 tablespoon dried lavender buds
- 1 cup unsalted butter, softened
- 3/4 cup granulated sugar
- 3/4 cup packed light brown sugar
- 2 large eggs
- 2 teaspoons vanilla extract
- 1 cup semi-sweet chocolate chips
- 1/2 cup white chocolate chips (optional)
Instructions
- In a medium bowl, whisk together the flour, baking soda, and salt. Set aside.
- In a small saucepan, melt 1 tablespoon of butter over low heat. Add the dried lavender buds and warm gently for 2 to 3 minutes. Remove from heat and let cool.
- In a large mixing bowl, beat together the softened butter, granulated sugar, and brown sugar until light and fluffy.
- Add the eggs, one at a time, beating well after each addition. Stir in the vanilla extract and the cooled lavender-infused butter.
- Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet ingredients, mixing until everything is combined. Fold in the chocolate chips.
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Use a cookie scoop to form dough balls and place them on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper.
- Bake for 10 to 12 minutes until the edges are golden brown and the centers are set.
- Let the cookies cool on the baking sheet for 5 minutes before transferring them to a wire rack.
Notes
Store leftover cookies in an airtight container at room temperature for up to five days or freeze for up to 3 months.
