- 1/2 cup heavy cream
- 1/2 cup granulated sugar for topping
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
- Cream together the softened butter, granulated sugar, and brown sugar until light and fluffy.
- Beat in the eggs one at a time, then mix in the vanilla extract.
- In another bowl, whisk together the flour, baking soda, and salt, then gradually mix this into the butter mixture.
- Chill the dough in the refrigerator for about 30 minutes.
- Scoop tablespoon-sized portions of the dough onto the prepared baking sheet.
- Bake for 10-12 minutes until the edges are golden.
- Heat the heavy cream in a saucepan until simmering.
- Spread a thin layer of heavy cream over each cookie and sprinkle sugar on top.
- Using a kitchen torch, caramelize the sugar until golden and bubbly.
- Allow the cookies to cool completely before serving.
Notes
Ensure your butter is at room temperature for optimal creaming. If you don’t have a torch, you can broil the cookies for a few seconds.
