Description

Delightful tarts filled with sweet caramelized onions and creamy goat cheese, perfect for appetizers or snacks.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 sheet of puff pastry
  • 2 large onions, thinly sliced
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • 1 teaspoon sugar
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • 4 oz goat cheese, crumbled
  • Fresh thyme for garnish (optional)

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C). Roll out the puff pastry sheet on a floured surface and cut it into squares. Arrange on a parchment-lined baking sheet.
  2. In a skillet, heat olive oil over medium heat. Add sliced onions and sprinkle with sugar, salt, and pepper. Cook for 15-20 minutes until caramelized.
  3. Spoon the caramelized onions onto pastry squares, add crumbled goat cheese, and bake for 15-20 minutes until golden brown. Garnish with thyme before serving.

Notes

For best caramelization, cook onions slowly and be patient. These tarts can be customized with other toppings or different cheeses.
