- 2 large onions, thinly sliced
- 2 tablespoons olive oil
- 1 teaspoon sugar
- Salt and pepper to taste
- 4 oz goat cheese, crumbled
- Fresh thyme for garnish (optional)
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C). Roll out the puff pastry sheet on a floured surface and cut it into squares. Arrange on a parchment-lined baking sheet.
- In a skillet, heat olive oil over medium heat. Add sliced onions and sprinkle with sugar, salt, and pepper. Cook for 15-20 minutes until caramelized.
- Spoon the caramelized onions onto pastry squares, add crumbled goat cheese, and bake for 15-20 minutes until golden brown. Garnish with thyme before serving.
Notes
For best caramelization, cook onions slowly and be patient. These tarts can be customized with other toppings or different cheeses.
