Ingredients

  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1/2 cup granulated sugar
  • 1 packet active dry yeast
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 cup milk
  • 1/4 cup unsalted butter
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1 cup heavy cream
  • 1/4 cup powdered sugar
  • 1 tablespoon instant coffee
  • Oil for frying

Instructions

  1. Warm the milk and butter in a small saucepan over low heat until melted and warm (not boiling).
  2. Combine the flour, sugar, yeast, and salt in a large mixing bowl.
  3. Pour the warm milk mixture into the dry ingredients, adding the eggs and vanilla extract, then mix to form a soft dough.
  4. Knead the dough on a floured surface for about 5 minutes until smooth and elastic.
  5. Place the dough in a greased bowl, cover with a towel, and let it rise in a warm place for about 1 hour until doubled in size.
  6. Roll out the dough to about 1/2 inch thick and cut into rounds.
  7. Let the donut rounds rest for another 30 minutes to puff up.
  8. Heat oil in a deep fryer or pot over medium heat and fry the donuts in batches for 2-3 minutes on each side until golden brown.
  9. Remove the fried donuts and place them on a wire rack to cool completely.
  10. Whip the heavy cream, powdered sugar, and instant coffee until stiff peaks form.
  11. Fill each donut generously with the coffee cream using a pastry bag.
  12. Dust with powdered sugar and serve!
