Description

This Homemade Stromboli is filled with gooey mozzarella cheese, pepperoni, sausage, and veggies all wrapped in golden, crispy dough.


Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 pizza dough
  • 1 cup marinara sauce
  • 2 cups shredded mozzarella cheese
  • 1/2 cup sliced pepperoni
  • 1/2 cup cooked sausage, crumbled
  • 1/2 cup sliced bell peppers
  • 1/4 cup grated Parmesan cheese
  • 1 teaspoon Italian seasoning
  • 1 egg, beaten
  • Olive oil for brushing

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 400°F (200°C).
  2. Roll out the pizza dough into a rectangle on a floured surface.
  3. Spread the marinara sauce over the dough, leaving a small border around the edges.
  4. Layer mozzarella cheese, pepperoni, sausage, and bell peppers on top. Sprinkle with Parmesan and Italian seasoning.
  5. Roll the dough tightly into a log shape and pinch the edges to seal.
  6. Place the Stromboli seam-side down on a parchment-lined baking sheet.
  7. Brush the top with beaten egg and olive oil.
  8. Cut slits on top to allow steam to escape.
  9. Bake for 25-30 minutes until golden brown.
  10. Cool slightly before slicing and serve with extra marinara sauce for dipping.

Notes

For a crispy bottom, bake on a hot baking sheet and avoid too much sauce. Leftover Stromboli can be stored in an airtight container for up to 3 days.
