Description

Ingredients

  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter, softened
  • 1/4 cup granulated sugar
  • 1/4 cup brown sugar, packed
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1 large egg
  • 1 cup chocolate chips

Instructions

  1. In a medium bowl, whisk together the flour, baking soda, and salt until well combined.
  2. In a large mixing bowl, beat the softened butter, granulated sugar, and brown sugar together until light and fluffy — about 2-3 minutes.
  3. Add the vanilla extract and egg to the butter-sugar mixture, mixing until just incorporated.
  4. Gradually add the dry ingredients into the wet mixture, stirring just until everything is combined.
  5. Gently fold in the chocolate chips until they’re evenly distributed throughout the dough.
  6. Cover the dough with plastic wrap and refrigerate for about 10 minutes.
  7. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  8. Once chilled, shape the dough into heart shapes using your hands or a cookie cutter.
  9. Place the heart-shaped cookies onto the prepared baking sheet and bake for about 10 minutes or until the edges are golden.
  10. Let the cookies cool on the baking sheet for a few minutes before transferring them to a wire rack to cool completely.
