Description

A delightful recipe for Greek chicken meatballs paired with a refreshing tzatziki sauce, perfect for family dinners or gatherings.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 lb ground chicken
  • 1/2 cup breadcrumbs
  • 1/4 cup grated Parmesan cheese
  • 1/4 cup finely chopped onion
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1/4 cup chopped fresh parsley
  • 1 tsp dried oregano
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 1/2 tsp black pepper
  • 1 egg
  • 1/2 cup Greek yogurt
  • 1/4 cucumber, grated and drained
  • 1 tbsp lemon juice
  • 1 clove garlic, minced
  • Salt and pepper to taste

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 400°F (200°C).
  2. In a large bowl, combine ground chicken, breadcrumbs, Parmesan, onion, garlic, parsley, oregano, salt, pepper, and egg. Mix until well combined.
  3. Form the mixture into meatballs, about 1 inch in diameter. Place them on a baking sheet.
  4. Bake for 20-25 minutes, or until cooked through and golden brown.
  5. For the tzatziki sauce, combine Greek yogurt, grated cucumber, lemon juice, minced garlic, and salt and pepper in a small bowl. Stir to mix.
  6. Serve the Greek chicken meatballs with tzatziki sauce on the side.

Notes

If the meatball mixture feels too wet, add a little more breadcrumbs. For added flavor, infuse the meatballs with cumin or coriander. Don’t skip draining the cucumber to avoid watery tzatziki.
