Description
A delightful recipe for Greek chicken meatballs paired with a refreshing tzatziki sauce, perfect for family dinners or gatherings.
Ingredients
Scale
- 1 lb ground chicken
- 1/2 cup breadcrumbs
- 1/4 cup grated Parmesan cheese
- 1/4 cup finely chopped onion
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 1/4 cup chopped fresh parsley
- 1 tsp dried oregano
- 1 tsp salt
- 1/2 tsp black pepper
- 1 egg
- 1/2 cup Greek yogurt
- 1/4 cucumber, grated and drained
- 1 tbsp lemon juice
- 1 clove garlic, minced
- Salt and pepper to taste
Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 400°F (200°C).
- In a large bowl, combine ground chicken, breadcrumbs, Parmesan, onion, garlic, parsley, oregano, salt, pepper, and egg. Mix until well combined.
- Form the mixture into meatballs, about 1 inch in diameter. Place them on a baking sheet.
- Bake for 20-25 minutes, or until cooked through and golden brown.
- For the tzatziki sauce, combine Greek yogurt, grated cucumber, lemon juice, minced garlic, and salt and pepper in a small bowl. Stir to mix.
- Serve the Greek chicken meatballs with tzatziki sauce on the side.
Notes
If the meatball mixture feels too wet, add a little more breadcrumbs. For added flavor, infuse the meatballs with cumin or coriander. Don’t skip draining the cucumber to avoid watery tzatziki.
