- 1 cup all-purpose flour
- 1/2 cup cold butter, cubed
- 1/4 cup powdered sugar
- 1/4 teaspoon salt
- 1/4 cup almond flour
- 1 egg yolk
- 2 tablespoons cold water
- 1/2 cup almond cream (marzipan)
- 1 egg (for egg wash)
- Sliced almonds (for topping)
Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C).
- Mix the all-purpose flour, powdered sugar, almond flour, and salt in a bowl.
- Cut in the cold butter until the mixture resembles coarse crumbs.
- Stir in the egg yolk and cold water until the dough comes together.
- Roll out the dough on a lightly floured surface and press it into a tart pan.
- Fill the crust with almond cream, smoothing it out until level.
- Brush the edges with beaten egg for a golden finish.
- Sprinkle sliced almonds on top.
- Bake for 20-25 minutes or until golden brown.
- Let it cool before serving.
Notes
For a different flavor, add vanilla extract to the almond cream or use other nuts like hazelnuts.
