Description

A delightful vegan dish featuring marinated tofu skewered with colorful vegetables, perfect for grilling.


Ingredients

  • 14 oz firm tofu
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • 2 tablespoons lemon juice
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 teaspoon dried oregano
  • Salt and pepper, to taste
  • Skewers (wooden or metal)
  • Pita bread (for serving)
  • Vegetables (such as bell peppers, onions, and zucchini) for grilling

Instructions

  1. Press the tofu to remove excess moisture and cut into bite-sized cubes.
  2. In a bowl, whisk together the olive oil, lemon juice, minced garlic, dried oregano, salt, and pepper to create the marinade.
  3. Add cubed tofu to the marinade and let it sit for at least 30 minutes.
  4. If using wooden skewers, soak them in water while the tofu marinates.
  5. Preheat the grill or grill pan to medium heat.
  6. Assemble skewers with marinated tofu and vegetables.
  7. Grill the skewers for about 10-15 minutes, turning occasionally.
  8. Serve the tofu souvlaki hot in warm pita bread with your favorite toppings.
