Description

A comforting dish of baked chicken topped with rich pesto and gooey mozzarella cheese, perfect for busy weeknights.


Ingredients

  • 4 boneless, skinless chicken breasts
  • 1/2 cup pesto sauce
  • 1 cup mozzarella cheese, shredded
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • Fresh basil leaves for garnish (optional)

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).
  2. Season the chicken breasts with salt and pepper on both sides.
  3. In a skillet, heat olive oil over medium heat and sear chicken breasts for 3-4 minutes on each side until golden brown.
  4. Transfer the seared chicken to a baking dish.
  5. Spread the pesto sauce evenly over each chicken breast.
  6. Sprinkle the shredded mozzarella cheese over the pesto-covered chicken.
  7. Bake for 20-25 minutes, or until chicken is cooked through (165°F/74°C).
  8. Garnish with fresh basil leaves before serving.

Notes
