- 4 boneless, skinless chicken breasts
- 1/2 cup pesto sauce
- 1 cup mozzarella cheese, shredded
- Salt and pepper to taste
- 1 tablespoon olive oil
- Fresh basil leaves for garnish (optional)
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).
- Season the chicken breasts with salt and pepper on both sides.
- In a skillet, heat olive oil over medium heat and sear chicken breasts for 3-4 minutes on each side until golden brown.
- Transfer the seared chicken to a baking dish.
- Spread the pesto sauce evenly over each chicken breast.
- Sprinkle the shredded mozzarella cheese over the pesto-covered chicken.
- Bake for 20-25 minutes, or until chicken is cooked through (165°F/74°C).
- Garnish with fresh basil leaves before serving.
Notes
