- 1 box chocolate cake mix
- 1 cup water
- 1/3 cup vegetable oil
- 3 large eggs
- 1 cup sour cream
- 1 cup powdered sugar
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 1 cup chopped nuts (optional)
- 2 cups whipped topping
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease a 9×13 inch baking pan.
- In a large bowl, combine the chocolate cake mix, water, vegetable oil, and eggs. Mix until smooth.
- Fold in the sour cream and optional chopped nuts.
- Pour the batter into the prepared baking pan and bake for 30-35 minutes, until a toothpick comes out clean.
- Allow the cake to cool completely in the pan.
- In a separate bowl, mix the powdered sugar and vanilla extract, adding water to form a glaze.
- Drizzle the glaze over the cooled cake, then top with whipped topping.
