Ingredients

- 1 package of puff pastry sheets
- 8 oz sliced ham
- 8 oz sliced cheese (such as Swiss or cheddar)
- 1 egg (for egg wash)
- Salt and pepper to taste
- Optional: mustard or sauce for serving
Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 400°F (200°C).
- Roll out the puff pastry sheets on a floured surface and cut them into 3×3 inch squares.
- On half of the squares, place a slice of ham and a slice of cheese.
- Top with another square of puff pastry and press the edges to seal.
- In a small bowl, beat the egg and brush it over the tops of the pastry stacks.
- Sprinkle with salt and pepper.
- Bake in the preheated oven for 15-20 minutes or until golden brown and flaky.
- Serve warm with mustard or your choice of sauce.
