- 8 oz pasta (any variety)
- 2 tablespoons olive oil
- 4 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 can (14 oz) diced tomatoes
- 1 cup heavy cream
- 1 teaspoon Italian seasoning
- Salt and pepper to taste
- Fresh basil for garnish
- Parmesan cheese for serving
Instructions
- Cook the pasta according to the package instructions. Drain and set aside.
- Heat olive oil in a large pan over medium heat.
- Add minced garlic and sauté until fragrant, about 1 minute.
- Add diced tomatoes (with juice) and Italian seasoning, and bring to a simmer. Cook for about 5 minutes.
- Reduce heat and stir in heavy cream. Simmer for another 5 minutes, stirring occasionally.
- Season with salt and pepper to taste.
- Add cooked pasta to the sauce and toss to coat.
- Serve hot, garnished with fresh basil and grated Parmesan cheese.
Notes
For extra flavor, use fresh herbs instead of dried and consider adding sautéed vegetables or proteins.
