- 2 cups all-purpose flour
- 1/2 cup granulated sugar
- 1 tablespoon baking powder
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1/2 cup unsalted butter, melted
- 2/3 cup milk
- 1 large egg
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 1/2 cup brown sugar
- 1 tablespoon ground cinnamon
- 1 cup powdered sugar
- 2 tablespoons milk (for icing)
- 1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract (for icing)
Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease a 9×9 inch baking pan.
- Mix together the flour, granulated sugar, baking powder, and salt in a large bowl.
- Combine the melted butter, milk, egg, and vanilla extract in another bowl.
- Spread half of the batter into the prepared pan.
- Mix together the brown sugar and ground cinnamon, then sprinkle over the batter.
- Drop the remaining batter over the cinnamon filling and spread it out.
- Bake for 25-30 minutes or until a toothpick inserted comes out clean.
- Allow to cool completely in the pan for at least 15-20 minutes.
- Whisk together the powdered sugar, milk, and vanilla extract for the icing and drizzle over the bars.
Notes
For extra gooeyness, consider adding nuts or chocolate chips to the batter! Store leftovers in an airtight container.
