- 2 ripe bananas, mashed
- 2 cups milk (or almond milk)
- 1/4 cup cocoa powder
- 1/2 cup brown sugar
- 1/4 cup unsweetened applesauce
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 1/2 teaspoon baking powder
- 1/4 teaspoon salt
- 1/2 cup chocolate chips (optional)
- 1/4 cup chopped nuts (optional)
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease a baking dish.
- Combine the rolled oats, cocoa powder, brown sugar, baking powder, and salt in a large bowl.
- Mash the bananas thoroughly in another bowl and add milk, unsweetened applesauce, and vanilla extract, stirring until blended.
- Pour the wet ingredients into the dry ingredients and stir until well combined.
- Fold in the optional chocolate chips and chopped nuts for added texture.
- Pour the mixture into your prepared baking dish, leveling it with a spatula.
- Bake for 30-35 minutes until the top is set and a toothpick comes out clean.
- Remove from the oven and let it cool slightly before serving.
Notes
For extra sweetness, ensure bananas are very ripe. You can also substitute brown sugar with maple syrup for a lighter version.
